On november 29 2012 in Saint-Vincent will be held the inauguration of the Prize SVEART 2012 (Saint-Vincent European ART 2012), Biennial Prize of European Art Saint-Vincent.
This important event, promoted by the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley and Saint-Vincent Resort & Casino, will correspond at the beginning of a large-scale project, punctuated by two-year appointments, which aims to promote the art performed by young talent from best academies in Europe.
Promoted and organized by the art critic Paolo Levi, the Biennial Prize of European Art Saint Vincent SVEART 2012 has the goal of providing at the best young European artists a showcase and an art context unique to present their works and to compare the beautiful backdrop of the Region of Aosta Valley.
The artists invited to participate at SVEART 2012 are 54 young people under 35 years belonging to a european state, reported by all Directors / Rectors / Presidents of the most important academies and high schools of art in Europe.
Each of these young talents will present at the international jury that will preside over the event two of his works.
All selected works will be hosted at the meeting rooms of the city of Saint-Vincent or other regional venues, regularly open to the public.
All the works will also be reproduced in a catalog in three languages (Italian, French and English) that, in addition to accompanying the exhibition, will be a unique repertoire about the new art and new artists in Europe.
The overall winner will win a prize edition of 3,000 Euro – while 2,000 and 1,000 Euro will be, respectively, the second and third prize.
Approved methods and the characteristics of the works will be: oil, watercolor, tempera, enamel, mixed media, collage, intaglio, woodcut, lithography, screen printing, offset printing and photo-mechanical print (photography) and video. For logistical reasons, it is not therefore provide for the 2012 edition, sculptures and installations.
